Raidat Al Dar

The Definition of the Programme:

This programme is based on the FDF's vision, mission and keenness to realize Abu Dhabi Government's 2030 vision and outcomes regarding building a confident society and a sustainable open economy capable of international competition. This besides women's contribution to the Emirate's prosperity and progress and building a broad base of businesses and projects that can increase the economic growth movement. This is achieved through launching programmes aiming to empower women, develop their social, cultural and economic abilities, promote their effective participation in Abu Dhabi's social and economic development, enable them to enter the labor market and promote their role in the society's elevation and revival. The programme consists of two major projects:

First: Raidat Al Dar (Development)

 

The Definition of the Programme:

This project aims to develop women's social and cultural skills in order to enable them to enter the labor market through training courses that contribute to promoting their status and effective participation in social life and the society's elevation and revival. Moreover, this programme contributes to developing their skills and social cognitive abilities, their self-development skills to build their self-confidence, social communication and problem solving skills and introducing them to labor market requirements.

 

The Type of the Programme:

Awareness and developmental.

 

Targeted Category:

  • Young women in the age group (19- 24)
  • Adult women in the age group (25 – 59)

 

Objectives:

  • Increasing women's effectiveness and developing their personal and leadership skills.
  • Developing women's social communication and problem solving skills.
  • Increasing women's awareness and developing their professional abilities in a manner consistent with the labor market's needs.

 

 

Implementation Mechanism:

 

Interactive training workshops.

 

 

Second: Raidat Al Dar (Empowerment)

 

The Definition of the Programme:

Raidat Al Dar Programme "empowerment" was launched in order to empower women economically through promoting their abilities, encouraging them to enter and establish themselves in labor market through establishing and managing their own projects, while focusing on medium and small ones, facilitating their access to services, information and resources. All this is done so that women are able to achieve bigger contribution and real effectiveness in supporting the sustainable development process. This programme's philosophy is based on women's empowerment and building their abilities as one of the most important bases of sustainable social development. This is because women are a main factor in increasing the family's income, improving its living standard, building community partnership with the local community and relevant bodies and institutions, and investing in the available resources and human potential to empower women and motivate them in Abu Dhabi to enter the labor market.

 

The Type of the Programme:

Awareness and developmental.

 

Objectives:

 

  • Contributing to promoting the productivity of the citizen families and empowering them to be self-dependent and increasing women's contribution to Abu Dhabi's labor force within the frame of promoting the values of sustainable development.
  • Developing and encouraging women's spirit of initiation and investment through providing them with leadership, management and technical skills to establish and develop medium and small projects, either the individual or group ones.
  • Facilitating women's access to institutions that help them in having the necessary funding to establish their own projects through approved funding resources in Abu Dhabi.
  • Contributing to creating new job opportunities for women to support their participation and activate their role in the society.

Implementation Mechanism:

The program is implemented over two phases:

  • First phase: Campaigns to raise young and adult women's awareness and educate them about the concept of entrepreneurship and introduce them to knowledge, skills and requirements to start their projects.
  • Second phase: Integrated training course aiming to empower women economically and provide them with everything needed to be qualified to experience the entrepreneurship with medium and small projects (medium and small projects certified manager).

Targeted Category:

Young and adult women in the age group of (18 -40 years). ​
